What is SpotPass?

SpotPass is a community parking app for drivers in Ireland. When a driver is leaving a parking space, they can share it with SpotPass. Drivers nearby see it on the map and can claim it, so less time is spent circling for a space.

How does it work?

1. Leaving a space? Tap Pass and choose when you'll be gone: immediately, or in 1 to 30 minutes. An orange pin appears on the map at your spot.

2. Looking for a space? Open the map to see spots that nearby drivers are leaving.

3. Tap Claim spot on the one you want and navigate to it.

Only one driver can claim each spot.

Is SpotPass free?

Yes. SpotPass is free to download and use.

Is a space guaranteed?

No. Spots are reported by other drivers, so availability isn't guaranteed. Always check the space and any parking signs when you arrive, and follow the rules of the road.

When does SpotPass launch?

SpotPass isn't available to download yet. Join the waiting list on our homepage and we'll email you when it launches.

Which phones does it work on?

SpotPass is being built for Android and iPhone.

Where in Ireland does it work?

SpotPass is built for drivers across Ireland. Spots appear wherever SpotPass drivers are sharing them, so the more drivers who join in your area, the more useful it becomes.

How do I sign in?

With your Google or Apple account. There's no separate password to create or remember.

Can other drivers see who I am?

No. Other drivers only see an orange SpotPass pin. They never see your name, email address or account, including when they claim a spot you shared.

Does SpotPass track my location?

No. SpotPass only uses your location while you're using location features, such as showing your position on the map or sharing the spot you're leaving. When you share a spot, SpotPass marks that spot, not you.

How long does a shared spot stay on the map?

Until the time you said you'd be leaving, plus 5 more minutes for someone to claim it. After that it disappears automatically. You can also cancel a spot you shared.

What is Spot Streak?

Spot Streak counts how many days in a row you've helped the SpotPass community, either by sharing a spot you're leaving or by inviting a friend who joins SpotPass. Days follow Irish time. Only you can see your streak. It has no cash value.

Can I invite friends?

Yes. Use Invite Friends in the app to share your personal invite link. When a friend joins SpotPass through it with a new account, it counts toward your Spot Streak.

Who can use SpotPass?

Anyone aged 16 or over.

Where is my data stored?

SpotPass app data is stored in the European Union. Read our Privacy Policy for the full details.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account directly in the app. Your personal information is deleted or anonymised.
